  RESCUE AND UTILITY ROPES

Updated March 7, 2019

There are several types of ropes carried on Rescue-1, Rescue-3 and the Special Operations Support Unit.

Of primary use are the 13mm (1/2 inch) "life safety" and utility ropes. The Special Operations Support unit also carries 5/8 inch utility rope and a personal safety rope bag.

The 13mm (1/2 inch) rope bags are clearly labeled as LIFE SAFETY and UTILITY rope. The life safety rope should only be used for life safety purposes!

On Rescue-3 and on the Special Operations Support Unit the 13mm (1/2 inch) rope bags are stored on the left forward bulkheads.

Rescue-1, left lower forward shelf.

Rescue-3, left forward shelf.

Special Operations Support, left forward shelf.

The 5/8 inch utility rope is in a duffel bag in the lower forward compartment of the Special Operation Support Unit.

For details regarding rope rescue equipment and accessory, please view the Information Sheet,
