  HEAVY EQUINE HOBBLES

Updated June 5, 2025

Heavy equine hobbles are required to control horses' legs when packaging for transport and in some instances, when extricating from confined spaces. Hobbles are carried on Rescue-1, Rescue-2 and Rescue/Transport-11. They are stowed in red bags along with heavy straps.

Rescue-1: The hobbles are stored in the red bag in compartment No. 5.

Rescue-2: the hobbles are stored in the red bag in compartment No. 6.

Hobbles are also useful when rolling a horse over due to time spent down or to load onto the Rescue Glide.

For more information regarding the application of heavy equine hobbles, please visit Technical Sheet #14,
Packaging a Downed Horse for Transport.
