This feature is a continuation of Part One.
Once the recovery strap was in place and ready, the pin holding the two panels together was carefully cut using the battery powered saber saw. From that point the challenge would be to pull the horse away from the corner at an angle that would keep his hind legs from getting caught in the lower portion of the panel to prevent his getting tangled up again when he tried to stand up.

The horse was now allowed to get up on his own, find his footing and walk clear of the corner.
Now back on all fours. A bit sore but functional
A decision was made to hold the horse in an empty corral for observations until he was walking soundly. BLM was notified and concurred. A couple of days later the horse was released back onto the range and is doing fine.
Meanwhile we had to get our vehicles free of the ice and back in service.
