  Rescue Glide SLIP SHEETS

Updated March 6, 2019

Slip sheets are part of the Rescue Glide set, hung on the center board of Rescue-1 and stored in the ceiling of Rescue-3. Their designed purpose is to provide a slick surface for the Rescue Glide to move over when on asphalt or another abrasive surface. They also have application in other rescue scenarios.

Horses should not be removed directly onto hot pavement or rough ground.
Slip sheets can provide a more controllable and less abrasive surface for extrications.

Slip sheets can provide a safe surface over cattle guards and other tricky surfaces.

Slip sheets can be used as edge pads when vector-lifting a large animal out of a hole or trench.

Slip sheets are also often used for ground padding when extricating bogged horses.

When used for edge protection or surface covering for cattle guard, mud and ice rescues, slip sheets are often used in combination with ground pads. Slip sheets by nature have a slick surface, so it's important when organizing a rescue to consider the best positions for slip sheets and ground pads that have traction coating.

The Rescue Glide and Slip Sheets are held on the center board on Rescue-1.

The Rescue Glide and Slip Sheets are held in the overhead rack on Rescue-3.
