Refinements

On Sunday we worked on refinement. Magic and Dusty worked fine out in the horse course and activities around the stable didn't bother them. So Hue worked on "body work," suppeling, giving to light pressure and being relaxed with humans up close and personal.

These activities primarily involved TTeamwork and Frank Bell's "Seven Steps."

Spirit's Big Day

Spirit was ready to move forward. He was still head shy but he would try to work with us around his head. He was starting to really like people and handling his head was less of a panic situation and more of just a strange annoyance.

We brought him into the safe squeeze where everyone handled him, especially his head. Then we moved a Tellington Ring all around his head and he quickly accepted it. Then we approached with the halter, giving click reinforcement when he relaxed and stayed with us. He haltered without a struggle.
