Saddle Horse!

Progress Reports

Horse Course Day

It was time to get the mob working together in the horse course. The horses needed to focus while lots of other things were going on. Herb and Suzi lent a hand. This was Spirit's second time out in the course so he had lots of catching up to do, and he did well. A couple of times Spirit got tangled up and spooked, but he came right back to us on voice command, even if his handler let go of the lead line.

The group was joined by Sharon and Zip the donk who provided comic relief.

Saddle Up!

We decided to see how Magic would handle things on his back and people hovering above his space. We started with a thick pad, then tried a bareback pad with cinch, then a saddle. The pictures speak for themselves.

Saddle on, getting some scratches
Humans in high places
Climbing aboard
Slapping the stirrups
Leaning over the top
Still relaxed (off lead)
Magic had a long day so we decided to quit on a good note before burning him out. We'll proceed further on Sunday.
