Janet's report for 10-28-01

We had a couple of new mentors join us today, LeiLani Wiss and Alissa King. Nancy also brought her husband Phil out to meet everyone. Also joining us were Jackie and Sharron. We had a full house. Jackie started out working Dusty and I haltered up Magic for LeiLani. Sharron worked with LeiLani for a while and got her going with the project. Alissa spent some much needed time with the burro ladies and was having a ball.

Then Nancy worked with Dusty and Jackie getting Dusty ready for a saddle blanket and Phil had a heart to heart with Dusty about remaining calm. Jackie went out and caught Frosty and brought him in to play with the group. And Sharron brought out Spirit. Everyone got groomed and were looking spiffy.

Nancy and Phil went for a little ride on our domestic horses and Cliff was helping Nancy to understand from the saddle what we had been working on on the ground. She and Phill seemed to really enjoy their time away on the horses.

Moose was then brought out and Alissa spent some bonding time with Moose. He has turned into a definite cuddle bug. We put Spirit back in the pen and brought Yogi out. This is the first time that Sharron has worked with Yogi and he behaved rather nicely. She was impressed with his ease of leading and even took him for a short walk outside the round pen. I however didn't have my camera with me for this segment so no pictures were taken.
