Janet's report for Jan. 27.

Today was a busy day so we got a little bit earlier than normal start. Kelly Rigby the BLM videographer came out to shoot some more b-roll and still shots of the boys and girls. One of the shots he wanted to get was kids working with the horses. So Jackie brought out her daughter Nikki and we also recruited Tyrel Belliston. Tyrel worked with Dusty and Nikki worked with Frosty. The boys were on their best behavior with the kids and the shoot went great. Nikki and Tyrel even got Dusty and Frosty to honk the horn for the camera.

Everyone else began arriving as today was our scheduled "group photo day". Everyone was looking very nice. Phil (Nancy's husband) took a few minutes to get us all coordinated and then began taking the pictures. Then everyone pulled halters and began catching horses. All of the Utah volunteers were here today so that meant that each horse got a lot of individual attention. Both the horses and humans seemed to really enjoy that. Sharron and her sister Joann (a visitor from California) spent a lot of time with the burros.

Cliff and I brought hot cocoa and donuts because it was only going to be about 20 degrees and we didn't want to lose anyone to the cold. Alissa and Lorraine were not feeling well so we were really happy that they were able to make it for the pictures.

Russ was able to get Jack to join the "horn honkers club" so now we are officially at 8 horses and 1 burro that honk. Everyone got blanketed and saddled except Yogi and Jack.

As we were finishing up we had some visitors arrive. Sally Wisely, the State Director of the BLM and Glenn Foreman from the State Office of the BLM arrived to meet the Utah volunteers and our Olympic dignataries. Glenn came bearing gifts of postcards for everyone to take which was very nice of him. The volunteers were able to tell the BLM what they have gotten out of the project and what they had contributed. It was somewhat of an emotional time for Cliff and I, as well as a few of the volunteers, were all able to tell everyone what the whole project has meant to us and how much we have enjoyed the opportunity given to us by the BLM and LRTC.

Thanks again to everyone.         The Utah Crew
